Job Title: Technical Manager

We are seeking a Technical Manager to oversee chemical engineering and staffing activities for slab stock, pillow processes, and tank farm operations. This role will work closely with Global Process Engineering, R&D, and other teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement in foam production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all foam pour line and pillow operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Oversee and manage ES&H requirements for the slab stock area.
• Implement and maintain quality control records and improve material usage through data analysis.
• Collaborate with Advanced Technology (AT) on new formulas, raw materials, and product trials.
• Plan and schedule raw material and finished goods requirements for production.
• Analyze lab data to ensure product quality and facilitate continuous improvement through root cause analysis.
• Manage capital expenditures and key projects, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Supervise and train employees, conduct performance appraisals, and address complaints and issues in line with organizational policies.
• Work closely with Global Sourcing to optimize processes and materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• Hands-on experience in foam production processes is required.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing teams directly and in a matrix organization.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and machine manuals.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of machine tools and plant utility systems.
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and wear appropriate PPE, including respirators.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).

Preferred Experience:

• Technical foam and supervisory experience.
• Developing foam formulations and conducting design of experiments (DOE) for new foam types.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
