Looking for the right candidate to submit? We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading EPC Contractor in the electricity and renewable energy sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on turnkey high-voltage substation projects ranging from £20m to £150m, contributing to critical energy infrastructure and the UK’s renewable energy targets.

About the Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll become a key part of the Commercial Team, supporting multi-year framework agreements and helping to maximise project profitability while managing risk. Working closely with Project Managers and Engineers, you will manage all commercial aspects of high-value projects and ensure accurate financial control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compile reports and claims within agreed timelines.
  • Manage subcontractor contracts, from tendering and selection through to monthly assessments and final accounts.
  • Monitor and maintain the project risk register, ensuring alignment with the risk management plan.
  • Assist with recovery of contract costs, identifying variations, delays, and compensation events.
  • Develop and implement processes for increased commercial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and forecasts, working closely with Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Support Project Managers in enhancing project profitability through cost control and claim management.
  • Attend handover and progress meetings, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law (NEC3/4) and commercial applications.
  • Experience in contract management, including variations, valuations, and claims.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Subcontract management and cost/value reconciliation expertise.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy and HV substation projects.
