The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Provide feasibility studies, grid connection reviews, and due diligence for clients.
• Develop and implement grid connection strategies for both distribution and transmission networks.
• Identify and assess risks during project progression, offering strategic advice.
• Work closely with clients to optimize grid connection solutions at minimum cost and risk.
• Engage with Network Operators (NOs) to build strong working relationships and navigate connection processes.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure clients stay compliant while leveraging opportunities.
• Scope consultancy services and prepare comprehensive fee proposals for new projects.
• Influence stakeholders such as Ofgem, BEIS, and network operators through lobbying and advocacy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with deep expertise in grid connection processes, excellent commercial skills, and a passion for providing innovative solutions.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• Significant experience in GB Distribution and Transmission networks.
• Proven track record in technical due diligence and connection process guidance.
• Background in consultancy with strong commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project design principles (highly desirable).
• Experience with power system software like PowerFactory, PSS/E, or IPSA (advantageous).
