About the Role

The Senior Commercial Manager will be based in Houston, Texas, overseeing two live projects and handling pre- and post-contract activities for the group. This position is integral to the company’s 5-year growth plan as they expand operations in the Texas and East Coast markets.

The successful candidate will lead and mentor commercial teams, ensuring the financial success of projects while managing risks and resolving disputes. This is a hands-on leadership role, focusing on collaboration, client satisfaction, and supply chain management to maintain the company’s strong market position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all pre- and post-contract activities across multiple live projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the commercial team, including quantity surveyors and procurement engineers.
  • Ensure the financial performance of live projects and manage risk and disputes effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes, focusing on non-aggressive, team-based approaches.
  • Support the 5-year business plan by expanding operations and securing new project awards.
  • Ensure compliance with local contract laws and regulations.
  • Build and maintain high-performing teams that align with the company’s collaborative culture.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader with extensive experience in commercial management within the construction and building sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading commercial teams and delivering large-scale projects while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years of post-graduate experience in commercial management.
  • Chartered status preferred.
  • Experience in Data Centres, Industrial, or Food-related projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of local contract laws and regulations in the USA.
  • Currently based in the USA with a willingness to travel across the country.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a hands-on approach to management.
  • Proven ability to recruit, grow, and mentor high-performing teams.
