About the Role

The Senior Architect / Project Manager will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary design consultancy in delivering the University Masterplan and preparing all documentation required for tendering the construction phase. The role involves close engagement with stakeholders, strategic direction of design teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of the 2040 University Vision.

The ideal candidate will possess architectural expertise in large-scale educational developments and demonstrate leadership in innovation, sustainability, and thoughtful design guidance. This client-side role is based in Doha, Qatar, with full-time commitment for a period of 22 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design consultancy in delivering the University Masterplan from concept to detailed design and tender documentation.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to design and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Engage with stakeholders and third parties, ensuring the project aligns with the university’s long-term vision.
• Oversee quality, time, and budget management, ensuring conformance with contract documents and local/international standards.
• Ensure that innovation and sustainable solutions are integrated into the design and masterplanning process.
• Provide regular reports and advice to senior management on project progress, team allocation, and delivery strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in masterplanning, architectural design, and higher education/university sector projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience, with a strong record of managing large-scale projects in both public and private sectors.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 15 years’ post-graduate experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Expertise in higher education/university sector projects, with strong experience in architectural design and masterplanning.
• Comprehensive understanding of contract documents, local and international specifications, and general conditions of contract (QCS).
• Strong budget management skills and the ability to provide advice on contractual and commercial matters.
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders.
