About the Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the business forward by leading and managing a team of Pump Solutions Managers (PSMs) while overseeing high-value projects from inception to completion. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid technical background in pumps and water engineering to take on a leadership position that combines technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic management.
The Senior Solutions Manager will work closely with the Director of Solutions and cross-functional teams to deliver tailored pumping solutions for a wide range of clients. This role involves regular travel across the UK, working directly with clients, project teams, and branches to ensure smooth delivery and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold the company’s core values and business strategy across the UK network.
- Work closely with the Director of Solutions and the wider teams to deliver market-leading pumping solutions.
- Build and manage client relationships, establishing trust in the company’s products, services, and brand.
- Oversee all aspects of project management, from planning to completion, while supporting the PSM team with their own projects.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop new team members, ensuring a structured and measurable approach to training and mentoring.
- Lead and manage a team of Pump Solutions Managers, ensuring they are engaged, motivated, and achieving their goals.
- Maintain a strong commercial focus, evaluating business deals and opportunities during site and branch visits.
- Drive a health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance and promoting best practices across all projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates with a strong technical background in mechanical/electrical engineering and extensive knowledge of temporary and permanent over-pumping solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced manager who has successfully led teams in high-pressure environments, preferably within the water industry or a related engineering sector.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in engineering project management, particularly in temporary and permanent over-pumping solutions.
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- Commercially astute, with experience in sales growth, profitability, and business development.
- Excellent project management skills, ensuring smooth and successful delivery of high-value projects.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to compliance and best practices.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must hold a valid driving licence and be comfortable with regular travel across the UK.
